The
Pilates Method is an exercise system focused on improving flexibility
and strength for the total body without building bulk. It is not
just exercise, however. The Pilates Method is a series of controlled
movements engaging your body and mind while providing a refreshing
and energizing workout.
More complex than other forms of exercise, The
Pilates Method, a fusion of western and eastern philosophies, teaches
you about breathing with movement, body mechanics, balance, coordination,
positioning of the body, spatial awareness, strength and flexibility.
Because conditioning sessions are done one-to-one with a certified
teacher or in closely supervised small groups, each session is tailored
to your specific needs.
The Pilates Method of body conditioning
can also be integrated into rehabilitative exercise and physical
therapy programs to speed recovery of soft tissue injuries. It can
also be used by pregnant women to learn proper breathing and body
alignment, improve concentration and recover body shape and tone
after pregnancy.
